Crumpet’s Tea Room is located in the small, quaint town of Genoa, Ill.,
20 miles west of Elgin on Route 72.
Crumpet’s was established in 1996 by Barb and George Dougherty,
visionaries who created an authentic English tea room on the
Midwestern prairie.
Attention to every detail at the restaurant starts with interior décor,
a decidedly Victorian flavor that mixes antiques with period artwork.
The menu includes fresh soups, sandwiches, salads and daily specials.
Be sure to look for Crumpet’s house specialty, Victoria’s masterpiece soup,
a creamy chicken soup with spinach and wild rice. You’ll also find an extensive
dessert menu that includes ice cream, cakes, pies and pastries.

Notice the authentic tin ceiling and oak archway in Crumpet’s foyer.
That’s only the start of your tea room adventure.
The tea room seats more than 75 people and is available for private parties and showers
and you’ll find a variety of one-of-a-kind shops along Genoa’s Main Street,
which features everything from antiques and Illinois wines to handmade quilts.
